I currently have accounts with InfoBarrel and eHow. Terrific experience writing for InfoBarrel, frustrated and disappointed with eHow’s lack of respect for writers. I will likely drop eHow.

I am quickly growing my InfoBarrel article portfolio and want to diversify my channel with a 2nd site. I find having a 2nd site is prudent and, like learning a 2nd language, helps to sharpen your approach. Coincidentally, this is how I found InfoBarrel and now it’s become my primary site for article submission.

I just set up a Hub account last night. It will take some getting used to because I deleted my article and lost part of a capsule! I think writing for various websites make us well-rounded writers.

This is an eyeopener for me. I thought that my goal with HubPages was to create backlinks for my blogs, but it seems that I have been going about it the wrong way. I’ll certainly go back and read your first article as well and check out some of your Hubs. I have 3 Hubs so this is a great time for me to really learn how to maximize on the benefits.

….I do find this figure to be quite impressive, and an obvious reflection of the potential of HubPages. As far as I know, no one on Info Barrel earns that much quite yet.

A nearest rival to HubPages, Squidoo, boasted of it’s highest earner only earning $1,300 in October of 2009. I mean, not that $1,300 is “Bad” (I’d take that any day), however, Squidoo also has over 1,000,000 people registered on its forum alone, with millions of ‘lenses’….I do love the marketing genius behind founder Seth Godin, but, on the other hand, there are some clear limitations to that platform that HubPages and Info Barrel seem to be addressing quite nicely.

With time, I think you will see HubPages and InfoBarrel solidify themselves very well in this industry. In my honest and humble opinion, all other business models pale in comparison.

I think eHow has done ALOT of things wrong–forever tarnishing their reputation in alot of writer’s minds. It’s clear that writers are now looking towards websites like Info Barrel and HubPages: websites that are transparent and will communicate with their members.

Is that too much to ask?

I appreciate this blog covering other platforms, beyond the unfortunate eHow debacle. It’s clear that occurrences over there, lately, have left a sour taste in people’s mouths when it comes to writing.

All hope is not lost, however.

This writer does make a compelling case for HubPages, however, I do strongly believe that Info Barrel will give some of the most elite websites in this industry a real run for their money.

There are certainly many holistic aspects to any one website’s functionality. From a revenue share standpoint, I do think that Info Barrel does beat HubPages hands-down. On the other hand, HubPages has a very high ranking and favor established already, which means that it may actually take less ‘work’ for a hub to rank well.

All in all, HubPages and Info Barrel, in my honest opinion, have the strongest platforms and offerings, amongst their vast array of competition. As Info Barrel’s article database and quantity and quality of writers continues to grow, I believe you’ll find quite a few people writing for them as well.

It is only a matter of time.
