Ah, the eHow UK clone issue still won’t go away. Well, actually it would, and quickly, too, if eHow would answer one simple question:

Do they pay writers for profits generated by eHow writers’ US articles cloned on the eHow UK site or not?

For a single, breath-holding moment yesterday, it appeared that eHow Community Manager, Rich Noguchi, had finally answered the question posed by members on eHow forums after five weeks of waiting for a response.

A lot of web content writers are wondering: What happened to eHow? And the answer is that no one but eHow knows for sure.

Based on more than three months of data analysis of five eHow accounts by three eHow writers, I can offer some possible–and probable–explanations…

The question that remains is whether eHow plans to compensate writers for using their articles and videos on eHow UK. I’m not even sure whether many eHow writers will be concerned about this, as long as the UK versions of our work do not compete for traffic with our original posts and lower our revenues…

If you are an eHow writer, here are a couple of questions for you: Are you aware that your eHow articles are now posted on eHow UK? This is a wonderful development if writers and video makers are paid for their UK views. But if not, it would be nice to know that, and to know what all of the other ramifications of this new development are for those of us who write and own this content.
