Oh, my. Just when you think it’s safe to go back in the eHow pool, eHow has un-deleted articles en masse.

Um, was Santa early? Nope. I’m thinking it’s just another eHow boo-boo. Why? Because eHow restored not only the “sweeps” victims, but in my case, they re-published all the articles that I deleted myself!

Funny thing is, I had edited most of my articles to read, “deleted by author” before actually deleting them, and that is how they stand. There is no content in the articles I deleted, and I’ve neither the time nor the inclination to delete them again.

If you have articles on eHow that you want to delete and re-post elsewhere, I suggest you edit them first to replace your original text to prevent potential duplicate-content issues in the future.

Should be fun to see if they earn any $$$ this time around…

  1. Did you receive emails about all of your articles that were “re-published”, Kim?…………hm….the funny thing is, I’ve gotten upwards of 40-50 emails from them in the last two weeks saying that my articles (all 150+ of them, that I had deleted in mass, about 3 months ago), were now “LIVE” on the site……..it was like a congratulatory email that was worded like I should be happy about it or something…..

….when I click through, however, it doesn’t take me to any of my articles (which is a good thing, because I had deleted them all…)….but, rather, it looks like a long list of eHow contributors articles….

    • Howie, I had unsubscribed from eHow notifications on that account, but I had received a “congratulations, your article has been published” email on another account from which I had deleted my content, so I checked my biggest account and saw that all my articles there had also been restored.

All of the previously deleted articles I checked are coming up in all of their “deleted by author” glory. No 301 redirects yet to their Demand Studios articles to help eHow continue to profit from my SEO research and backlinks.

But I would bet money that they will remove and redirect them before they delete all of their spam “Neobux” articles with affiliate links, for example. eHow is very efficient that way.

Your spreadsheet in your previous comment on the “What happened to eHow” post is enlightening, by the way. Thank you for adding that–can’t wait for your upcoming guest post!
